The El Paso Twinning Group
Your donations are greatly needed
Twinning is a term that means sharing. Those of us who have more than we need should share with those who have less than they need. We want to share with families living in the poor sections of El Paso and with our brothers and sisters across the border in Juarez.
The Society of St. Vincent DePaul has been in El Paso since 1893 and has helped thousands of families in the El Paso area deal with needs . Since 1999 as violence in Juarez ruined their economy we have provided food and medical assistance to our brothers and sisters across the border. Several times we have arranged for diagnosis and treatment for children whose parents could not afford to see a doctor. Doctors and hospitals in El Paso and other cities in the area have provided free treatment and saved the life of the child. Every day we buy food and distribute it to families living near our centers in Juarez. Often this is the only food they will get because they have no money.
Our local communities are also in great need
When a family lives in a cardboard shack in a colonia with no utilities, they need everything. St. Vincent DePaul and the volunteers who go to Juarez to work with these families are their only hope.
